Family Room

Our open family room has been the biggest challenge due to the layout. I had pretty hard time finding a furniture arrangement, because of the corner fireplace and the fact that it only has one full wall!

 We had some furniture that we brought with us from our last home in Germany and it was way too big for the small living space, so purchasing new furniture was a no brain er for me:) My Hubby only had one requests, the TV to go above the fireplace.

I first choose a color pal late that I liked.

I was going for something totally different than what we had before.

Something bight and fun! It's a family room after all and where we spend most of our time.

The over sized red sectional (what was I thinking) was just too much!!

Here is the after:

It feels so much more open and inviting.

The ottoman I made gives the hubby a place to rest his feet:)





I found some fabric that had all the colors I wanted in it and made some pillows.

I think all the colors go really well together.

I made this picture in power point using different fonts and the colors of my family room.

Then just printed it out onto card stock using my home printer.

I still have to paint the armoire white, but it's great storage!

It houses our xbox, ps3, computer, printer and DVDs.

I found it on Craigslist for only $60.00!!

I am so happy with the way it turned out, other than adding some family pictures on the only full wall, I am done (with this side of the great room).

I now have to work on the kitchen/dining side of the great room.
